Helensburgh Cove Run August 2022

With the sun shining, around more than 30 cars squeezed into Kidston Cark for our Annual Run around to Cove Burgh Hall. Local residents turned out to see the magnificent display of Vintage, Classic and very assorted collection of vehicles on Saturday 27th August. One of the admirers was a certain Scottish Multi Championship Motor Sports Legend Olly Ross…..I wandered over and began chatting with him. A modest man but I dug deep for more information and I was glad I did…Olly has been Scottish Champion no fewer than 20 times spanning a career from 1977! He has on display at his home in Helensburgh 112 Trophies…..wow!! See photos below. On our way to Cove there was a request from Roseneath Caravan Park Management to make a short detour and drive around the caravan park to showcase the cars, and what a turnout there was of park residents and holidaymakers to cheer and wave the cars as they arrived and left again, to continue their journey to Cove Burgh Hall.

One lucky lady was delighted when Alan wangled her a lift a Vintage MG. The lady , a Kilgreggan resident expressed her very sincere thanks to Dave Morgan ( The Chauffeur) and Alex McDougall (Back seat entertainments Manager) ….she had a great laugh guys and a memorable drive up to Coulport with you!!  Tea/coffee, snacks and Hog Roast rolls courtesy of the Burgh Hall Committee. Thanks to them and also Graham Bell and Dave Morgan.

Below is a selection of photos from Saturday….  Missed anyone out??? Let me know and I’ll pop your photo on…..if you have your own favourite photo from the day…..send it to me for inclusion on this page…..my email address is on the website .

Smiles from a local Kilcreggan resident who hitched a ride in Alex McDougall’s MG….
