I am happy to pass on some good news about Liz Young. I spoke to John yesterday and he tells me she is making good progress although the healing process will still take some time.

EVENTS:

The meeting at the Kirkhouse Inn last month was a great success, helped in no small measure by the fine weather.

In view of its success it has been decided to have a meeting this month as well.

There is no need to book, simply turn up on Tuesday 15th June at about 12.00.

The Committee are conscious that the summer is passing and there has been very little by way of any social events.

We hope to remedy this and hope to arrange visits to the Maid of the Loch, Queen Mary, and a repeat of last year’s run round the Rosneath Peninsula.

Arrangements for these are still a “work in progress” and you will be kept informed by way of messages from John Young.

Meantime here is a note of some events that will be happening within the coming weeks.

This is not an exhaustive list, just those I am aware of.

Saturday 19th June:

Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, Dunaskin, East Ayrshire,. KA6 7JH.

The Doon Valley Railway is re-opening on Saturday 19thJune after a lengthy lockdown.

To mark this they are holding an open day and would be delighted if any of us could attend with our classics as an added attraction. I know some members of Ayrshire Classics Car Club will be attending.

There is no need to book or make any reservation, just turn up.

It should be an interesting event but I understand that track maintenance means there will no live running.

The Doon Valley Railway is located at the former Dunaskin Ironworks in Waterside, near Patna in Ayrshire.

Sunday 8th August: East Ayrshire Car Club are holding their event at Kames, Dalmellington.
